Nintendo’s NES Classic Edition was the third best-selling game console during January 2017. NPD reports the system came in ahead of the Wii U and behind the PS4 and Xbox One. The NES Classic’s ranking was due to its high sales of 1.5 million units since its launch.
Sales during January increased since shortages around the holiday season prevented many people from ordering the NES Classic at that time.
The NES Classic has faced shortages ever since its launch, leading to a pretty active (and expensive) secondary market. It’s a $60 mini-console that comes with some classic NES games.
